Why Physical Therapy?
- Do you feel limited in your ability to exercise, garden, or engage in other activities that you enjoy?
- Have you had injuries that have resulted in pain or restricted mobility?
- Do you experience discomfort as a result of the postures or movements that you regularly perform as part of your work, activities of daily living, or exercise program?
Whether you have chronic back pain, an acute injury, are recovering from orthopedic surgery, or are experiencing the effects of a stroke, physical therapy treatment by a skilled professional can help you recover and maintain optimal function.
What Makes My Physical Therapy Practice Different?
Rather than relying on the services of physical therapy assistants or aides, I personally provide all aspects of your care. We begin treatment with a comprehensive examination that includes:
- Your medical history, with particular attention to current issues and to your history of musculoskeletal injuries or surgeries
- Your current and past work and recreational activities
- A postural assessment
- Movement assessments
- Strength and flexibility assessments
- Discussion of the goals you hope to achieve in physical therapy
Drawing on my experience with many approaches to physical and neurological rehabilitation, I combine hands-on manual therapies, movement education, a variety of approaches for increasing strength and flexibility, and ergonomics to successfully address your needs and goals.
My intention is to support you in achieving optimal function and to provide you with the self-care tools and the knowledge to address new movement challenges as they arise in your life.
