ur bodies have a tremendous ability to self-regulate and regenerate in order to sustain our health. Our food choices can either support or diminish this innate ability.
Many people are surprised to learn about the large variety of health issues that may be related to or caused by nutrient deficiencies, poor food choices, or by simply eating foods that are not appropriate for them as individuals. Working with a qualified nutritionist as part of your health team can help you discover how to make food choices that are supportive of your health.
Consulting with a nutritionist may be beneficial if you are experiencing:
- Difficulty losing weight
- Food cravings
- Gas, bloating, constipation, reflux, or other digestive issues
- Fatigue
- Poor blood sugar control resulting in a pre-diabetic condition or diabetes
- Arthritis, muscle spasms, or bone loss
- Frequent colds and infections
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
There are many other health concerns that can also be positively influenced by adopting an appropriate nutrition plan.
You may be experiencing health challenges, or you may want to learn how to maintain your current state of good health. In either case, a personalized nutrition plan is a key ingredient to preserving lifelong vitality.
My Approach
I bring a passion for delicious, whole foods to my work. My goal is to inspire you to eat food that nourishes your body, mind, and spirit.
Together we will create a personalized nutrition plan that is based on the most current research and that addresses your individual needs and health concerns. It is my intention to offer you the knowledge you need to make healthy food choices and the tools for implementing your personal nutrition plan.
My work with you includes:
Education
- Learning about your body’s basic requirements for fats, proteins, carbohydrates, water, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients
Development of a Plan
- Creating a dietary plan that matches the requirements of your genetic inheritance, current stage of life, lifestyle, specific health concerns, and your health goals
- Recommending appropriate dietary supplements to support optimal immune, hormone, and metabolic function
Support and Guidance for Transitioning to the Plan
- This may include meal plans; recipes; instruction in how to efficiently prepare delicious meals using whole foods; and grocery store and farmers’ market tours.
- Ongoing support for changes in your nutritional needs
- Behavioral strategies to facilitate achievement of your goals

Making changes in your diet and lifestyle in order to address health concerns is a process. This is best accomplished through a series of sessions that are scheduled to allow you to make changes over a period of time.
The following options are available for you to choose from:
I. Nutrition Plan Development with Ongoing Support
This includes an extensive initial interview, review of a three day diet and activity record, development of a staged nutrition plan, and ongoing guidance and support for transitioning to the new plan. This plan is appropriate for individuals with several health concerns or more chronic health issues. A minimum of four sessions is common. Recommendations for healthy exercise and stress management practices may be included to address chronic health issues. Ongoing brief telephone or email support is provided between scheduled sessions.
II. Nutrition Action Plan
This involves a “snapshot” assessment of your basic nutritional needs based on an initial interview and review of a three day diet and activity record that you provide. This includes two sessions and is appropriate for individuals without complex health issues who are interested in learning how to maintain their current good state of health throughout their lifetime.

General Information
Prior to our first appointment, I will send you intake forms and a three day diet and activity form with instructions. These forms should be filled out and brought to your first appointment.
Initial Assessment: This is a sixty to ninety minute appointment to review your health history and diet and activity record, and to discuss your current health concerns and goals. I will make some initial dietary recommendations at this time. After our meeting, I will develop a detailed dietary plan based on your goals and the health information that I have gathered at our first meeting. This plan may also include recommendations for healthy exercise and stress management and will be reviewed at our next session.
Future Sessions: These are thirty to sixty minutes in length. The purpose of these sessions is to review your progress and make adjustments to the plan; answer your questions; and provide additional support in the form of education, recipes, meal plans, and ideas for food preparation, as needed.
Scheduling Appointments
Appointments can be scheduled for my Santa Rosa office or can be held via telephone. Telephone sessions will need to be paid in advance by check or credit card. Payments for office appointments are due at the time of service.
